Malarkey Roofing Products Announces THE ZONE!

Portland, Oregon – Malarkey Roofing Company announces the development and introduction of a revolutionary new shingle design for laminated shingles known as THE ZONE.

The growth in popularity of laminated shingles has exposed several design flaws which are addressed by THE ZONE. Field research indicates that a majority of laminated shingle roofs are incorrectly installed due to poor fastener placement. Because of this incorrect application, many of the roofs do not carry a manufacturer’s warranty, leaving the applicator the entire liability burden for the roof.

THE ZONE offers a substantially larger nailing area; up to three times larger than the older style laminated shingle. Because of this much larger nailing area, it is significantly easier for the applicator to quickly and correctly install laminated shingles with THE ZONE.

The design of THE ZONE eliminates the troughing effect often seen on standard laminated shingles not designed with THE ZONE. This troughing effect allows water to run sideways, creating a source for leaks. Additionally, laminated shingles manufactured with THE ZONE have two rain seals to prevent water from blowing up behind the shim. This is twice the protection afforded by other laminated shingle designs.

Malarkey Roofing Products has applied for patent protection for THE ZONE design and is currently producing and shipping laminated shingle products with THE ZONE.

Malarkey's Zone Technology is featured on the Legacy®, Northwest-XL and Highlander-CS shingles.
