Made with NEX® Polymer Modified Asphalt and UL Class 4 rated for impact resistance (highest rating possible), EZ-Ridge® hip & ridge shingles provide extra impact protection at the more vulnerable high points of the roof and come in a high profile that adds noticeable roof dimension for enhanced curb appeal.

High Profile Hip & Ridge Shingles

A new roof requires more than just shingles. It’s a cohesive, coordinated system including: 1) shingles, 2) underlayment, 3) ice and water underlayment, 4) starter shingles, and 5) hip & ridge shingles.

The highest point on the roof is called the ridge, the others are called hips. These high points can experience greater damage from events like hail and debris. Hip and ridge shingles provide extra impact protection at these more vulnerable areas, as well as extra roof dimension for enhanced curb appeal.

Made with our proprietary NEX® Polymer Modified (Rubberized) Asphalt, which combines asphalt for weathering, with rubber and plastic polymers for added strength and durability, Malarkey hip & ridge shingles are engineered to outperform and outlast.

EZ-Ridge® carries Class 4 impact protection against hail and storm debris (highest rating possible).

Sustainably Designed

Incorporating upcycled tires and plastic bags to increase strength and durability, while reducing landfill waste, and integrating smog-reducing granules that help clean the air, Malarkey hip & ridge shingles are designed with the environment in mind.

Installed Fifth

When installing a complete 5-component system for your new roof, hip & ridge shingles are installed last, after the field (roofing) shingles.

Unique Features

NEX® Polymer Modified (Rubberized) Asphalt

Combining high-grade asphalt with synthetic and upcycled rubber and plastic polymers, proprietary NEX® Polymer Modified (Rubberized) Asphalt formulation rubberizes the asphalt core of the shingle to deliver superior all-weather resilience and longer product life.

EZ-Ridge® hip & ridge shingles carry a UL Class 4 impact rating (highest rating possible).

Upcycled Rubber & Plastics

Recycled content can sometimes diminish product quality. Not so with our shingles. Polymers from upcycled tires and plastic bags are added to our asphalt formulation to improve shingle strength and durability, while reducing landfill waste – extending product life and landfill life.

Rubberized adhesive bonds provide exceptional seal-down and wind protection at the eave and rake edges of the roof.

Ceramic-coated 3M™ Roofing Granules add lasting color vibrancy, while our NEX® asphalt technology dramatically enhances granule retention – the shingle’s primary defense against hail, scuffing, and the aging effects of UV sunlight.

3M™ Smog-Reducing Granules

3M™ Smog-Reducing Granules, which blend inconspicuously into the shingle’s color, harness sunlight to photocatalytically convert dangerous smog gases like nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) into water-soluble salt ions that rinse off the roof with rainwater, actively cleaning the air of these emission-based pollutants.

3M™ Copper Granules (Algae-Resistant)

Algae-resistant 3M™ Copper Granules blend inconspicuously into the shingle’s color and help prevent unsightly black streaks caused by algae growth. EZ-Ridge® hip & ridge shingles feature Scotchgard™ Protector for enhanced algae resistance.

Profile Options

EZ-Ridge® hip & ridge shingles come in 2 profile options (heights) – 8″ EZ-Ridge® and 10″ EZ-Ridge® XT for added roof dimension and subtle, enhanced curb appeal.

Enhanced Warranty

Roofs work better when the parts work together. A complete new roof requires 5 components – shingles, underlayment, ice & water barrier, starter shingles, and hip & ridge shingles.

If your roof is installed by a Malarkey Certified Contractor, who also uses the above Malarkey accessories as a part of a complete roof system, your roof is eligible for extended warranty coverage.

Warranty

EZ-Ridge® is eligible for expanded warranty coverages relative to its use as a single roofing accessory or in combination with others in a complete Malarkey roofing system. When installed with algae resistant shingles, EZ-Ridge® is covered by Malarkey’s Limited Lifetime Scotchgard™ Protector Warranty. Installed separately, it carries a 10-year product warranty against manufacturing defects. Contact Malarkey’s Technical Services Department for details.
