Next week at the International Roofing Expo® (IRE) in New Orleans, the preeminent roofing construction and maintenance event, John Kouba, director of technical services at Malarkey Roofing Products, will join other industry leaders during a panel on the proper installation of asphalt roofing shingles. John has been involved in the manufacturing of asphalt based roofing products since 1993 and has conducted over 6,000 roof inspections.
Hosting the educational session panel is the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA), a trade association representing North America’s asphalt roofing manufacturing companies and their raw material suppliers. The session is titled, “Proper Application of Asphalt Shingles: Path to Performance”, and will review building code and standards requirements for asphalt shingles and their installation, including high wind and wildfire exposure regions. According to ARMA, “The presentation will also highlight the key elements that make up a durable asphalt shingle roofing system, and proper installation techniques and inspection methods to maintain a roof’s effectiveness.”
The session is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, from 7:45 – 9:45 a.m. Tim McQuillen, ARMA’s director of technical services, will serve as moderator of the panel discussion.
The IRE organizers describe the event as, “where roofing pros experience face-to-face interaction, product review, education and networking. The expansive show floor and extensive educational program provide the best opportunity to discover the latest trends, advances in technology and best practices for business growth.”
